Working with the Cojoyla Association of Women Weavers and Artisans of San Maros, in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. Starting with Agave plants and following the process of turning the plant fibers into usable fabric.

Spinning a Yarn


June 2010, San Francisco, California College of the Arts: Students participate in a workshop exploring various techniques working with local wool with from before heading out to work with artisans in Guatemala. We learned how to card wool by hand and with a drum carder, work with a spinning wheel and a drop spindle as well as felting.
